- 2 pounds kielbasa sausage, sliced
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the kielbasa in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté the onions in the same skillet until soft.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
- Add the cooked kielbasa and sautéed onions over the potatoes.
- Pour the heavy cream and milk over the layers, and season with salt and pepper.
- Top with the remaining potato slices.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
For a crispy top, uncover the casserole during the last few minutes of baking.
