- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 8 oz sea scallops, diced
- 8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente.
- Melt butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
- Add flour and whisk for about 1 minute until golden.
- Pour in the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
- Stir in the cheddar, Gruyère, and cream cheese until melted and smooth.
- Combine the cooked pasta, seafood, and cheese sauce, mixing well.
- Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
Notes
Using a combination of cheeses enhances the creaminess. For extra crunch, mix panko breadcrumbs with melted butter before topping.
