  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 8 oz sea scallops, diced
  • 8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Melt butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add flour and whisk for about 1 minute until golden.
  4. Pour in the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  5. Stir in the cheddar, Gruyère, and cream cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta, seafood, and cheese sauce, mixing well.
  7. Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top.
  8. Bake in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Using a combination of cheeses enhances the creaminess. For extra crunch, mix panko breadcrumbs with melted butter before topping.
